چکیده
In past three decades, two dimensional face recognition has been one of the most important and attractive research areas in computer vision. However, pose and illumination variations in the face images have been the dominant factors which have hindered many practical applications of two dimensional face recognition systems. In order to overcome these limitations and inherent drawbacks of two dimensional recognition system, many researchers have turned to 3D or surface facial information which is now commonly believed to have the potential to achieve greater recognition accuracy than just 2D. In this paper, a novel 3D face recognition approach based on radon transform and factorial discriminant analysis using SVM is

3D Face Recognition Using Radon Transform and Factorial Discriminant Analysis (FDA)
Automatic recognition of human faces is considered to be a challenging task despite significant progress in both computer vision and pattern recognition. A facial recognition system is a computer application of automatically identifying or verifying a person from a digital image or a video frame from a video source. Typical variations such as in-depth pose changes or illumination variations inc...

In this paper, several two-dimensional extensions of principal component analysis (PCA) and linear discriminant analysis (LDA) techniques has been applied in a lossless dimensionality reduction framework, for face recognition application. In this framework, the benefits of dimensionality reduction were used to improve the performance of its predictive model, which was a support vector machine (...
متن کاملFace Recognition by Cognitive Discriminant Features
Face recognition is still an active pattern analysis topic. Faces have already been treated as objects or textures, but human face recognition system takes a different approach in face recognition. People refer to faces by their most discriminant features. People usually describe faces in sentences like ``She's snub-nosed'' or ``he's got long nose'' or ``he's got round eyes'' and so like. These...

In spite of over two decades of intense research, illumination and pose invariance remain prohibitively challenging aspects of face recognition for most practical application. Many recent events, such as terrorist attacks, have exposed the serious weaknesses in most sophisticated security systems. Automatic face recognition has long been established as one of the most active research areas in c...
